With Care in Place - a celebration

Join us for a celebration of the completion of the With Care in Place project at Te Kura Tawhito The Old School in New Brighton. We welcome the public to share in some kai and words to mark this occasion, and to enjoy a walk around the site. Hear about the range of activities happening at The Old School – a collective of creatives, craftspeople and organisations – and learn about the With Care in Place project. This project was an exercise in participatory design that introduced an architectural designer into the community to support the adaptation of The Old School's physical environment to respect its past and enable its future. The people of Te Kura Tawhito desired to raise awareness of the life on site and the range of these activities in the wider community through colour, wayfinding signs and artist-designed fence beautification. Te Pūtahi, Renew Brighton and Te Kura Tawhito The Old School wish to thank the groups and individuals who have made this project possible, including Rātā Foundation, Christchurch City Council and Dulux who have generously enabled the work, and Field as a collaborator and a sponsor. We also wish to thank the wonderful residents of The Old School.
