Meet in the Middle
Te Ara Ōtākaro is the transitional walking and cycling trail running along the Ōtākaro Avon River from city to sea.
‘Meet in the Middle’ on Sunday 15 October 2017 is an event to celebrate the partial opening of the trail.
It is an invitation to the people of Christchurch to join treks on foot or bike from either end of the trail and meet in the middle at Kerrs Reach for a family fun day with kids activities, a multi-code regatta with kayak, waka, rowing, and dragon boat racing, as well as live entertainment on stage.
It will be a great day along the river in the red zone - its time to start experiencing what could be!
Treks start at 10:30 from New Brighton Clock Tower or Cambridge Terrace (Opp Margaret Mahy playground) arriving at Kerrs Reach at noon for 3 hours of entertainment. Free return buses for walkers.
Part of the Breeze Walking Festival and Biketober.
